Ultra-Orthodox Jewish school supervisor says she made up child rape claim

Jewish girls on their way to school in Modi'in Illit
By: Moses Gold

A school supervisor at an ultra-Orthodox Jewish girls’ school in the Israeli city of Modi’in Illit, now claims that she made up a story about a 5-year-old girl being raped by an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man on her way to school, according to police reports in Israel.

The supervisor of the school in the city of Modi'in Illit haredi who earlier filed a police report on the alleged rape of a girl, 5-years-old, has recanted the story, reportedly saying that the story was invented.

"I have blown the story out of proportion and made it up. It never happened," she said, while sitting in the dark as she spoke with a distorted voice in order to protect her identity.

She said she filed the false rape report as her way of standing up for the rights of abused children who cannot speak for themselves. "I did not think it would get to this level. I wanted to surprise the system," she told a television news station.

Police have flooded the city over the last two weeks trying to identify and locate the victim and the rapist, but residents have consistently refused to cooperate with the investigation.

The kindergarten supervisor said she did not tell the truth to the police investigators because she was very confused. “I did not know what to say. I feared for my life," she said.

Police said that despite the significant discrepancies in her story along with the obstructions of city residents they have decided to continue the investigation into the possible violation of children.

The school supervisor also said that she knows of countless young children who are being raped on a daily basis.
She said she was raped when she was 16-years-old and never received proper treatment.
“I suffered as a teenager after being raped. I had no one to turn too,” she told the television news station.

Hasidic rabbi bans women from walking alongside their husbands

Ultra-Orthodox Jewish couple walking together on the street
By: Moses Gold

A Hasidic rabbi has banned women from walking alongside their husbands among ordering several new laws, according to press reports in Israel.

At a ceremony that marked 11 months since the death of the previous grand rabbi of Viznitz, and the end of reciting the Kaddish, a memorial prayer for the dead, the current serving grand rabbi of Viznitz, ordered new regulations for the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community.

The new regulations match up to the extreme modesty regulations of other famous Hasidic groups. The rabbi instructed marriage counselors to notify newly married couples about all the new laws he issued.

During the speech, the rabbi also criticized how ultra-Orthodox Jewish women are dressed, fuming that skirts are too long or too short and criticized the type of wigs being used by ultra-Orthodox Jewish women.

Some of the new regulations reported in the Israeli press include:
Followers are only allowed to speak the Yiddish language, banning modern Hebrew.

Followers may only read the Hamodia newspaper, which is published by the Gur Hasidic group.
Married followers are forbidden to walk together as a couple in public.

Women must cover their wigs with a scarf or hat wide enough that covers most of the wig. Critics have noted that the Torah forbids anyone from adding new laws to the laws already stated in the Torah of Moses.

"Yoseph Robinson was a true model for the Caribbean and Jewish communities of Flatbush," Williams said. "I live just a stone's throw away from where Yoseph worked and died, and I can speak to the impact his loss has had in this close-knit neighborhood. Now, we have to take the next step to remember his legacy for future generations."

In trying to protect his girlfriend, Robinson was shot by Eion Klass after refusing to give over the jewelry. Klass was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper deletes women's shoes from picture

Original and photoshopped picture

An Ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper, has caused controversy after they photoshopped a picture that had a woman’s shoe in it.

The paper took out the woman’s shoe from the picture claiming modesty reasons.

Many believe that the owners of the Hamodia newspaper, have gone overboard by removing the woman’s shoe, thereby suggesting that when ultra-Orthodox Jewish men look at women’s shoes they could become aroused.

The Hamodia newspaper, published an article about the fire department being called when a baby crawled into a bedroom, closed the door and played with a shoe drawer. When the mother went to get her baby from the room she could not open the door, as the baby had fallen asleep and blocked the entrance. Firefighters were able to safely open the door and rescue the baby.

When they came into the room, someone took a picture of the sleeping baby next to the open shoe drawer.

The Hamodia newspaper, wanted to report the story and a family member gave the picture to a staff member. But when the article was published things were different as the photo has been photoshopped and the woman’s shoes were taken out from the photo.

In the photo the shoes were not worn by a woman, nor was it some sexy stilettos shoe, it was simple, flat, everyday shoes.

When asked about the censorship, the Hamodia staff said the paper allows photos of accessories such as handbags, but censors women's clothing, including shoes even if no one is wearing them, “for modesty reasons.”

This begs the question of where does the insanity end? Will they now ban all shoe stores from displaying women’s shoes, or will they demand men’s and women’s shoes to be sold separately?

Skver school bomber gets another 13 months jail

Omar Bulphred
By: John Roberts

A man who bombed a Jewish school in Canada, was jailed again after he violated his probation, according to court proceedings in Canada.

Omar Bulphred suffers from Asperger syndrome, which could explain his attacks on two Jewish institutions in Montreal and account for why he was jailed a month after his completed sentence, his lawyer told a Quebec Court Tuesday.

Charles Montpetit told the court that Bulphred is a sick young man who lives in his own world, with difficulty connecting with others, a characteristic of Asperger's, an autism disorder.

The 27-year-old, pleaded guilty Tuesday to several charges including trespassing and breaking conditions of his probation. He was sentenced to 13 months in prison, seven of which he has already served awaiting court hearings, leaving him with six months in prison.

Bulphred, who pleaded guilty in 2009 for the 2006 bombing of Skver-Toldos Orthodox Jewish Boys School in Outremont, and trying to cause an explosion at the YM-YWHA Ben Weider Jewish Community Center, also known as the Y Snowdon, in 2007, was released last June. Upon his release, he signed a commitment to maintain peace and not to communicate with the Correctional Service of Canada staff.

But in July, he was charged with five counts of burglary, one charge for uttering threats and breaking the probation conditions. He reportedly looked into some houses and threatened one of the homeowners.

Jews demand facebook delete f*** Israel page

Facebook
By: Sarah Weiss

A Jewish group is demanding that facebook immediately delete a page on its social media website titled f*** Israel, according to press reports in the United States.

On facebook, more than 100,000 people are fighting each other in an online extension of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The battle is centered around the facebook page called f*** Israel, which has more than 36,000 fans and has a constant stream of anti-Israeli statements or pro-Palestinian statements.

Now, Jewish groups, including the Anti-Defamation League, are pressuring facebook to remove the page, claiming it violates the rules of the website. Increasing the pressure on the social media website, an online petition asking for the removal has received more than 80,000 signatures so far.

The removal of the page should not be such a hard goal to achieve. The site quite explicitly prohibits incitement to hatred, which it defines as "the content that attacks people based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation or disability.”

One would think that the name "f*** Israel" alone would be an immediate red flag for hate and harassment for facebook, but apparently not. The people behind the page, which claim to be Turkish, have been publishing comments on the page for almost two years.

Gaza University announces new modest dress code for female students

Gaza University students
By: Sarah Weiss

Female students attending Gaza University now have to dress a certain way, according to a statement made by Hamas.

The Hamas terrorist rulers of Gaza have taken another step towards the implementation of strict Islamic sharia law in the region.
The latest step is the introduction of a strict dress code for female students at the University of Al-Aqsa.
A letter distributed to students in November stated that all students should wear modest clothing on campus.

Al-Aqsa University president Salam al-Agha told a Palestinian newspaper last week that the dress code, which is scheduled to be implemented when the new semester begins, does not require the burka or face veil, but rather an approved dress according to the university.

Al-Agha said the dress code would be implemented by education and staff will give lectures on appropriate clothing, including loose clothing, long jackets and baggy pants.

He said that 97 percent of students dress appropriately, but the dress code was conducted to ensure that all students dress appropriately to avoid attracting male desire.

However, the decision has caused outrage among officials of the Palestinian Authority. Ali Jarbawi, the Minister of Higher Education, issued an official response to the announcement of the university, labeling the decision "illegal and therefore null and unenforceable," according to press reports.

Man seriously burned after his Samsung mobile phone battery explodes

Mobile phone battery burns through pants pocket

A man was seriously injured when his mobile phone battery suddenly exploded, according to fire officials in South Korea.

South Korean Fire officials said the man suffered burns after the battery of a Samsung smartphone caught fire while inside his pants pocket.

Bupyeong Officers from the Fire Station in the city of Incheon, said Wednesday that the lithium-ion battery was not in the phone when it caught fire. These batteries are quick to charge but prone to overheating.

The man suffered second degree burns and a one-inch wound on the thigh from Saturday's incident. Authorities declined to identify the man.

A South Korean newspaper reported that a Galaxy Note 2011 battery exploded, but firefighters could not confirm the make and model. It may not be the first time that a Samsung allegedly burned through pants pockets. According to the newspaper, a child suffered similar injuries last March.

Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment but later a company spokesperson told the press: "Lithium batteries can catch fire due to external pressure or sudden temperature changes, so we are trying to understand what really happened.”

Teen girl suffers strokes and goes blind after smoking potpourri

Emily Bauer
By: Shifra Unger

(Scroll down for video) A U.S. teen girl nearly died after smoking potpourri, or fake weed with some friends, according to press reports in Texas.

The teen girl suffered a series of strokes that left her with brain damage and paralysis after smoking synthetic marijuana that she bought at a local gas station.

Emily Bauer, 17, has also not been able to see since December when she smoked the fake weed with friends which caused her family to launch a campaign to ban the substance.

At first, Emily, of Cypress, Texas, thought she had a migraine and decided to lie down. But then she suffered the strokes, which puts her in a psychotic-like state, according to press reports.

While under the influence of her hallucinations she ran into the walls of her home and became extremely violent.
After 24 hours, her family became extremely worried since she had not come down from the drug. The family called the police to put her in an ambulance and take her to Northwest Cypress Hospital.

The doctors induced her into a coma for testing of her brain and discovered that the strokes caused severe vasculitis.

Her family was told that she would never recognize them again and will never have the use of her arms or legs.
Her parents then decide to remove her breathing tube and feeding tube, but miraculously she fought and one day she told her mother she loved her.

U.S. teen builds nuclear reactor inside his father's garage

Conrad Farnsworth
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) A U.S. teen has built a nuclear reactor inside his father’s garage, according to video uploaded to the internet.

Conrad Farnsworth of Newcastle, Wyoming, is not even old enough to vote when he built a successful nuclear fusion reactor.
Now, 18-years-old, Farnsworth said last month that while the reactor which was built in the garage is too inefficient to be used for energy production, it could be used to produce isotopes to fight cancer.

The teenager, who shares his surname with the original designer of the fusion reactor, Philo T. Farnsworth and self-proclaimed mad scientist Hubert J. Farnsworth, began working on the project when he was just 16-years-old. He began by contacting members of the international community of amateur fusion enthusiasts.

The resulting reactor is a maze of wires, buttons and other stuff, sitting next to his father's 1972 Chevy car in the shed. The plasma in the center of the reactor reaches a temperature of 600 million degrees Fahrenheit.
On December 1, 2011, Farnsworth captured the moment he achieved nuclear fusion on video.

The next day, he uploaded the video to YouTube, and a few days later, he went his creation, to a regional science fair, winning the first prize. He also won again at the state level. He then attended the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium in Maryland and San Diego.

According to a local newspaper, only about 60 people worldwide have ever built a successful fusion reactor. Now, Farnsworth told the newspaper, he is working on the development of a more efficient nuclear reactor.
Since the nuclear fusion reactor emits no radiation it is perfectly safe to operate anywhere.

Man caught on video stealing lottery tickets and synthetic marijuana

Man enjoying his scratch off lottery tickets
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) A thief was caught on video stealing lottery tickets and synthetic marijuana while his female accomplice was seen cashing the lottery tickets later, according to video uploaded to the internet.

Video surveillance at the Dunedin convenience store captured what appears to be the same man stealing from the store on three separate occasions.
"He was coming and going," said Simon Makdissi, the owner of the food store, Munchee’s, near the intersection of Bayshore and Dunedin Palm Boulevards.

One day, surveillance video captured the suspect, a man, who holds up an employee at gunpoint. The masked suspect was wearing a gray jacket and ordered the clerk to open the register and hand him money. He then demanded scratch off lottery tickets and Spice, which is a synthetic marijuana. The employee complied with the demands and the suspect then fled.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white man about 6 feet tall, weighing 165 pounds with a medium built. In the video he is seen with a gray hooded jacket. The jacket has a red backing along the neck. He also seems to be wearing a baseball cap under the hood.

A week later, an unidentified woman cashed in the stolen lottery tickets at a Citgo gas station at 1301 Missouri Avenue in Clearwater. A surveillance video captured the woman.
A few days later, the robbery suspect, who was wearing the same gray jacket and a mask, broke the front window of Munchee’s.

Surveillance video showed the suspect grabbing hundreds of scratch off lottery tickets and then put them in a garbage bag.
During the time that the suspect was stealing from Munchee’s, the store alarm went off. The suspect however didn't care and he took a pack of cigarettes before running off into the night.

A few hours later, a man who is believed to be the unidentified suspect and a woman are seen cashing stolen lottery tickets at the 7-Eleven at 100 Alt 19 in Palm Harbor. A surveillance video captured the man and the woman. The woman in this surveillance video looks like the woman caught cashing the tickets stolen the week before.

A few days later, the suspect struck again. Using the same jacket, the suspect ordered the employee to open the cash register and the safe. The clerk on duty was the same worker who was robbed before.

When his wife learned that was held up for the second time she suffered a stroke.
The worker decided to stay beside his wife, while she was recovering in the hospital. Police are asking the public for help in identifying the man and the woman.

Man arrested after mistakenly pocket dialing police

Matthew Dollarhide
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) A man ran into some bad luck after he mistakenly allowed police to listen into his drug deal, according to police reports in Florida.

Authorities said that a tow truck driver was jailed after his phone pocket dialed police and dispatchers listened into a conversation about drug sales.

Deputies said that 19-year-old Matthew Dollarhide was surprised when an assistant Volusia County Sheriff arrested him Tuesday night and asked him about his conversation with two passengers.

The local Florida newspaper reported that police identified the location of the cell phone and sent deputies to investigate. From the conversation, dispatchers learned that he was driving a tow truck.

Deputies said they found a crack pipe on Dollarhide. The man in the city of Orange, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He told police the pipe belonged to his father.

Maybe people will now learn to set their cell phone to the lock position to prevent their cell phone from dialing unwanted people who can in turn listen into their private conversations.

The Jerusalem Biblical Zoo introduces rare Persian fallow deer to its zoo

Persian fallow deer

(Scroll down for video) The Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, attracts more than 750,000 visitors each year. People from every background come to see the amazing collection of animals from around the world.

The Biblical Zoo, is involved in conservation initiatives on many species from all over the world.

They have recently introduced the Persian fallow deer, to the zoo. For many years it has been believed that these deer were extinct, until a small family of Persian fallow deer, was found in the mountains of Iran, and they were brought to Israel. They are currently being reintroduced into the wild in two places, one in the north and one here in the hills of Jerusalem.

With a sharp divide between Israeli Jews and Palestinian Muslims and even Israeli Muslims, there are a few places where all the tension is forgotten. One of those places is the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo.

Clutching the railing near a small lake in the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, six-year-old, Zeinab and seven-year-old Tali, are fascinated by the Siamang gibbons swinging from vines and screaming to visitors. After a while, the girls turn back and join their respective families at a picnic just a few meters or yards of each other in the grass nearby.

The zoo, now expanding, founded in 1939, when the country was still under British rule, was created to bring together all the animals mentioned in the Bible.

The two groups rarely rub shoulders in the playground in the holy city where Jewish and Muslim families visit at the same time.

"Jews and Muslims work together just fine," said 20-year-old zookeeper Abu Ulfat Katish who greets visitors with a smile at the front gate of the zoo.
"We forget about politics for a moment, even though everyone has their own ideas and no one is willing to give them up," said Katish, in a purple veil, and the dark green shirt worn by all employees of the zoo.

Young Zeinab came with her parents Sherihan and Mohammed Abu Sbita, from Al-Tur on the Mount of Olives in largely Muslim East Jerusalem.

And Tali, who lives in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Geula, is with her sister Shira, 16, who takes care of her five younger siblings.

"We do our best to accommodate our Muslim visitors. Our notes are translated into Arabic and many zoo employees are Muslims, especially the guides," said Sigalit Dvir-Hertz, a zoo spokesman.

Originally located in the center of Jerusalem, the zoo was founded by the late Shulov Aharon, a professor considered one of the pioneers in zoology at the Hebrew University.

The zoo changed places several times, especially after the Arab-Israeli war in 1948, the year that the state of Israel was created and a dispute over the ownership of the land which is still opposed by both sides today.

In 1993, the zoo moved to its current location, which is 250 dunams or 25 acres, 62 hectares, on the slopes of a valley overlooked by sweeping pine-covered hills in southern Jerusalem.

Muslim cleric calls for baby girls to wear burkas to protect them from being sexually abuse

Adorable baby in a burka
(Scroll down for video) After a number of reports of babies being sexually molested, a cleric called for all girls, including babies to be fully covered by wearing the face veil, commonly known as the burka.

Instead of calling for harsher punishment for child molesters, he is calling for drastic measure on babies.

In a television interview on the Islamic TV, Sheikh Abdullah Daoud, emphasized that the use of the veil is to protect girls from being raped. According to reports, some people have taken the ruling seriously and started dressing their baby girls in burkas.

Daoud, caused a firestorm on social media. This ruling caused many people to become outraged, as one person wrote: “how about having men wear burkas.” That might be a good idea since a child molester would not know the difference between girls and boys, which might cause him to think twice before grabbing a child. With this ruling the child molesters will easily be able to identify baby girls.

Former judge Sheikh Mohammad al-Jzlana, said that the decision to have baby girls in burkas “was denigrating to Islam and Shariah law and it made Islam look bad.” Jzlana urged people to ignore the ruling and explained that there is “special regulations set by the Saudi authorities to administer religious edicts and appoints those who are entitled to issue them,” he said.

The former judge also said that he feels sad every time he sees a family walking around with a baby in a burka, which he describes as an injustice to children.

Boston Market employee fired after telling undercover boss he hates customers

Supervisor Ronnie at the Boston Market
By: Debbie Gross

(Scroll down for video) An employee at a large corporation was caught red handed by the undercover boss, according to video uploaded to the internet.

The worker who ranted about his hatred of Boston Market customers was fired after his partner turned out to be an undercover high level company executive.

The man, identified only as Ronnie, is the first person to get the boot from a company during the recording of the reality show titled Undercover Boss.

The episode, which aired on television this week showed the employee calling customers at the company’s Duluth, Georgia, branch "selfish and demanding."

"I literally hate customers more than anything in the world. I hate them. They are terrible. It is all about them all the time and they demand everything,” Ronnie said.

But, unknown to him, his co-worker was not the new waitress, Rachel Rand, but in fact the company Chief Brand Officer, Sara Bittorf.
She had been sent to the mission by her Chief Executive Officer to investigate the restaurant.

The program showed Bittorf becoming increasingly livid against Ronnie, a shift supervisor, sometimes having to excuse herself from the kitchen so she can catch her breath.

The employee was fired, but he said he had the right to hate people and he did nothing wrong.

Edith Rodriguez and Pablo Ocegueda
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) They went to school that day like any other day to have some fun during lunch time play, but they were severely injured, according to hospital officials in California.

Two California high school students cut off their fingers on Monday in a game of tug-of-war during Spirit Week, the local California newspaper reported.

Officials have identified the students only as a female soccer player and a senior male football player, according to the report. But a local television news station identified the students as Edith Rodriguez, who is a senior and a soccer player and Pablo Ocegueda, who is also a senior and is active in sports. Both students attended El Monte Union High School, which is east of Los Angeles.

The students were rushed to downtown Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center where surgeons tried to reattach their fingers, according to the report. It is unclear how many fingers were cut off. One newspaper reported that the students lost at least one finger.
The accident happened when at least 40 students were playing tug-of-war when the rope suddenly snapped thereby cutting off their finger.

Rosa Sacca, a hospital spokesperson, told the newspaper that the students were in stable condition and their parents were by their side of the bed.

Woman sues gym after being forced into sexual exercise

Jaimie Johnson
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) When she signed up for the gym she had no clue of all the sexualized exercises going on during classes.

A Dallas, Texas, woman is suing LA Fitness, after she said that two trainers forced her into exercises that were sexually suggestive and behaved inappropriately towards her.

Jaimie Johnson said her problems began when she saw a trainer at the gym in Plano, and she made her do exercises that she felt were inappropriate.

"He replied bluntly: ‘So, I can see your chest movement as you do it,’” Johnson said the trainer replied when asked about the exercises and not in an exercise kind of way. It was more in a sexual way.

Johnson applied for a new trainer, which she said also made lewd comments to her. She said the trainer even sent her a vulgar text, which was opened by her 5-year-old son.

When Johnson complained to the corporate offices of the company, she said she was offered $400. Her lawyers said in the lawsuit that Johnson suffered traumatic emotional distress and could not work through her daily activities. They also claimed that her husband suffered from this as well.

"I wish these guys realize that they cannot treat women in this way," Johnson told a local television news station.

(Scroll down for video) A teen girl learned the hard way that a courtroom is not a nightclub, according to video uploaded to the internet.

After laughing in the face of a Miami, Florida, judge, he doubled the bail for an 18-year-old girl, Penelope Soto, from $5,000 to $10,000. The teen however, still didn’t get that a courtroom is serious business.

"Are you serious?" She exclaimed. The judge responded quickly: "I am serious. Adios.”
Soto then, as she left the courtroom, cursed the judge and gave him her middle finger. The judge called her back to verify what she had just said.

Once she admitted to cursing him, she got what was probably the shock of the week, when he said: "You are in direct contempt. Thirty days in the county jail."

Soto was originally arrested for illegal possession of drugs against anxiety, a relatively minor offense. “Teens need to learn from this that facing a court is serious business and not a joke,” a court spokesperson told news reporters.

(Scroll down for video) A large delegation of Muslim Imams led by the “Imam for the Jews”, visited a Holocaust Memorial site, according to video uploaded to the internet.

In the first such event of its kind in France, about 30 French Imams visited the Holocaust Memorial in Drancy near Paris on Monday. The visit comes at a time of great tension between Muslim and Jewish communities in France.

The French delegation of 30 Imams on Monday visited the Holocaust Memorial in Drancy, near Paris, in an effort to improve the image of Islam to a skeptical French public.

The visit was unprecedented and comes at a time of great tension to the country's large Muslim community following the murder of seven people, including three Jewish children, by French Islamist militant Mohamed Merah, in March 2012.

A new poll released last month showed that 74 percent of respondents said that the Muslim faith was not compatible with the values of the French Republic.

"In a time of growing racism and fear of Islam in France, we are saying 'no, it is possible for us to live together,'" Hassen Chalghoumi, who is the Imam of Drancy and the first Muslim figure in France to seek reconciliation among religions, said.

"Today, we are demonstrating that Islam in France is not necessarily subject to foreign influence or interference," he added. "Most French Muslims are not fanatics. We represent an Islam that values human life, which rejects fundamentalism, racism and barbarism.”

Chalghoumi, labeled by some Muslims in France as "Imam for Jews", is the head of the conference of Imams in France, an unofficial organization that is not recognized by the State created by the French Muslim Council.
